Today, I used Let’s encrypt for the first time. It was really easy. I secured one domain (and the www. that goes with it) in literally 5 minutes.
Working with the
certbot was really a breeze. For different reasons I used manual generation and in this process you have to manually prove that you own the domain you want to generate a certificate for. Doing so was just a matter of adding a new file on the host at a specific path with specific content.
It was really easy and quick. I went ahead and donated to the organization because the tools they built to allow this kind of operations are amazing. You can see here why they need donations as well as how you can donate.
Go ahead, try the tool, secure your domain and give them a little financial help!
Note: this domain is not yet secured with by the Let’s Encrypt CA but it is a matter of time.
